It doesn’t always take a million dollar car or a legendary athlete to get inspiration for a luxurious handcrafted watch. Grand Seiko understands this thought, which is why Mother Nature is seen as the creativity behind the newest addition to the Heritage Collection. The Grand Seiko SLGH005 shows the dynamism of the white birch forests near the studio in Shizukuishi, where all of Grand Seiko’s mechanical watches are made. The 40mm stainless steel watch has a glossy dial with a linear pattern depicting the pear of the white birch tree while the only other focus is on the date display. The high-beat watch is powered by the revolutionary 9SA5 caliber, which, thanks to its improved energy efficiency, offers a power reserve of 80 hours. A matching stainless steel bracelet and a triple clasp complete the simple design of the Grand Seiko SLGH005. This example from Grand Seiko only further proves that inspiration for exquisite pieces cannot be found further than someone’s back yard.
