Basic design and proportions have not changed radically, but the outside is now more fluent and at the same time sportier. An important aspect in the “birth” of the new Touareg was fuel consumption, weight reduction also play an important role (-208 kg compared to its predecessor).
Under the hood we have to choose between FSI engines, TDI, TSI and even a hybrid. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), the second generation of the German SUV will be offered with V8 petrol engines, the V10 TDI and W12.

The new Touareg Hybrid will be powered by a combination of a 3.0-liter TDI V6 (333 hp) and an electric motor that develops 47 hp. With a maximum output of 380 hp and 580 Nm, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 240 km / h. Fuel consumption is around the value of 8.2 l/100 km and CO2 emissions reach the threshold of 193 g / km. Moreover, the Touareg Hybrid can be driven with up to 50 km / h electric mode only.

In addition, VW Touareg will be available with a 3.6 V6 FSI engine that produces 280 horsepower and 360 Nm. In this case, consumption rises to 9.9 liters and CO2 emissions to 236 g / km. Also two diesel engines will be found under the hood of the second generation of the German SUV: a V6 TDI (240 hp and 550 Nm) and a 4.2-liter TDI V8 (340 hp and 800 Nm).
New VW Touareg will arrive in showrooms in April this year.
