Kia Seltos receives iMT from the venue Kia Sonet / Hyundai

In a latest development, we have now learned that Kia will also introduce the intelligent clutchless manual transmission – iMT – on the Seltos. So that is Kia Seltos will be the fourth Hyundai Motor Group product to offer the iMT option after the venue, Sonet and the i20.

The iMT option of the Seltos is offered with the 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a naturally aspirated engine. This engine generates a maximum torque of 115 hp and 144 Nm. Other transmission options for the 1.5-liter petrol engine include a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT automatic transmission. Incidentally, the Seltos will be the first naturally aspirated petrol model to be offered with the iMT option. In all other existing models – So nice, Meeting place and i20 – The iMT option is offered with a turbo gasoline engine.

Kia will likely also offer the iMT option with the 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine. The 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine develops 140 hp with a peak torque of 242 Nm. This engine is currently offered with a 7-speed DCT transmission. The iMT option is likely to be offered for the mid-range HTX + fairing with the 1.5 liter engine. In the meantime, it could be offered on the top-of-the-line GTX + cladding with the 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine. On the other hand, the 1.5 liter diesel engine is unlikely to change.

Previous teasers suggested that Kia could bring a new top spec Gravity Edition Variant as a special model. The most significant update of the Seltos Gravity Edition concerns the exterior design of the SUV. It comes with a unique chrome studded design for the signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille. It also gets a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, a new gray and black theme is expected for the upholstery that is not available with the current range.

The Kia Seltos is currently available in India between 9.89 lakh and 17.65 lakh (ex showroom). The prices are likely to increase slightly due to new functions. The new Gravity Edition will likely be positioned even higher.
