Hyundai Alcazar (Tata Safari / MG Hector Plus rival) leaks ahead of debut



Hyundai Alcazar is the upcoming 7-seater SUV from the South Korean automaker on the Indian market. Yesterday, the automaker released a series of teaser images to add to the anticipation that the crowds are waiting for this Creta-based 7-seater SUV. Well, the automaker has certainly succeeded. While the Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be unveiled in the first week of next month, it was recently released via 3D model images from Hum3D.

Exterior design

The pictures show that the upcoming Alcazar will have a slightly different face compared to the Alcazar chalk. The front bumper is a newly profiled unit and is also given a new design for the radiator grille. On the sides it looks identical to the Creta up to the B-pillar. In addition, things are changing by a wide margin. The roof misses the sloping design and the Alcazar gets a quarter glass around the C-pillar. It now looks more upright around the back facet. Compared to the Creta, the trunk lid is new, as are the rear bumper and taillights. In addition, the alloy wheels are given a different design, and they appear to be 18 inches in diameter.

Interior design

Inside, the most noticeable difference between the Creta and the Alcazar is the addition of an additional row of seats in the latter. The Alcazar is offered in avatars with 6 and 7 seats. These pictures are of the international model as the steering wheel is on the left.

In the 6-seater version, the Alcazar has individual armrests between the ctain chairs. Speaking of features, it comes loaded with a long list of devices like the Creta. In addition, it will likely be equipped with ADAS technology, which includes various safety features such as automatic emergency braking, warning of driver attention, assistant to avoid collision with blind spots and more.

Powertrain & Transmission Options

As of now, Hyundai is very excited about the mechanical specifications of the Alcazar. However, the same engine options are expected to be offered as on the Creta. A 1.5 liter gasoline engine is offered, along with the option of a 1.5 liter diesel engine and a 1.4 liter turbo gasoline engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed MT, a 6-speed AT, a 7-speed DCT, and a CVT.

Once launched, the Hyundai Alcazar will be able to compete with MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the upcoming Mahindra XUV500.
