Honda wins Green Car of the Year at the 2011 LA Auto Show

And the winner is…… Honda Civic Natural Gas. The great award received by Honda at the 2011 LA Auto Show is “The Green Car of the Year”, competition in which it had to face label names like Ford Focus Electric, Mitsubishi i, Toyota Prius V and the Volkswagen Passat TDI.
In order to enter in such a competition a car must have a “quantifiable environmental achievement,” market significance and “newness,” according to the Green Car Journal.
Apparently, Honda had it all since it managed to beat Ford Focus Electric, which was the favorite of the game, only a couple of months ago.
Way to go Honda! We are glad to see you on the Hall of Fame, together with great names like Volkswagen Jetta TDI, Audi A3 TDI or Chevrolet Volt.
