Chevrolet Surprises at Los Angeles Auto Show 2014
What is Chevrolet doing when it’s not designing a new car? Well, it’s participating at the best auto show in Los Angeles that’s for sure. And Chevrolet doesn’t come empty handed but bearing lots of super-tuned gifts. Just like Santa Claus, only a little better!
The amazing company raised the stakes with a Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo which was presented recently at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Nothing impressive so far? What if I told you that it has a futuristic design and a laser-based propulsion?
A bit of ‘history’
This great concept was named after the Chaparral Racing company located in Texas. The collaboration between Chevrolet and Chaparral started 45 years ago and it doesn’t seem to want to stop now. On the contrary. In time it only gets better! If we are to check out this concept we can tell that it’s a car that looks towards the future and which wants to innovate the automotive industry.
What’s so good about it?
It propels a lightweight chassis with a 671-kW laser which is powered by a lithium-ion battery. In addition to this it adds a generator and it reaches the outstanding number of 900 hp. We don’t know how they did it but what we can tell you is that in the Gran Turismo 6 game, this Chevrolet goes from 0-60 mph to 240 mph in just 1.5 seconds.
But what about technology in Chevrolet Chaparral?
The team who built the car made sure that the weight was minimized by using lightweight aerodynamics. Add stripped-out cockpit with instrumentation placed inside the helmet of the driver and the results are outstanding. This car is the true embodiment of advanced technology and of how its creators see the future. And if we are to check out the photos I would say that the future looks pretty good. What do you think?
