2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Obsidian brings out the darker side of the full-size SUV

Not only does obsidian sound like an incredibly regal name for the family pooch, but it’s also a vitreous volcanic rock that is naturally black. Outside of the natural world, however, it is a term that is now associated with the Jeep Wagoneer, specifically the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Obsidian 2022. As the name suggests, this particular member of the Wagoneer family is adorned with sleek black reflections. It’s the perfect touch of style and customization right out of the box. Although the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are the same vehicles at heart, only this one offers the Obsidian Kit. This means that – like other Grand Wagoneer fairings – the Obsidian comes standard with all-wheel drive and a 6.4-liter V-8 that develops 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

The obsidian is one of four Grand Wagoneer decorations. Series I is the cheapest and least equipped. Series II is the middle model; and Series III is the most expensive and best-equipped of the Wagoneer clan. Obsidian goes best with a Series III, but is technically classified on its own. In terms of price, the $ 100,995 Grand Wagoneer Obsidian ranks between that of the Series II, valued at $ 95,995, and the Series III, valued at $ 105,995.

The obsidian may be characterized by black, but it is not limited to the diamond black exterior color. It will also be available in white, silver and gray.

Regardless of the color, the Grand Wagoneer Obsidian stands out from the rest of the Grand Wagoneer package. Credits such as 22-inch wheels with black inserts and a black grille, plus black emblem, exterior mirrors and window trim. Inside the obsidian is a black interior with dark-tinted instrument panel trims made of chiseled metal and plique black pliques. Basically, the obsidian has a healthy dose of flare straight from the factory that should satisfy the demand from customers looking for the eerie, modern and elegant style achieved by trendy black accents.

Although the majority of the Wagoner family is expected to go on sale before the middle of the year, the Grand Wagoneer Obsidian will not arrive until some time later.
