I know the title sounds strange, but it is real: Volkswagen Passat from USA is different from Volkswagen Passat from European auto-market.
Germans from VW wants to sell over 1 million Passat’s models on the American market and the changes are to improve its commercial look.
The VW Passat for USA is longer with 99 m, taller with 15 mm and larger than the European model, because Americans want more space on a powerful car.
Americans also prefer powerful engines, so their model are 5-cylinders with 170 hp or VR6 with 280 hp with DSG transmission (gasoline) and a diesel model 2 l TDI offering 140 hp.
I think it is pretty hard for Americans to accommodate with diesel engines, because we all know that they prefer cars with higher fuel consumption.
Other improvements are made at the interior, with many features that can be observed in the following pictures.
