Engine
The Etios Cross is available in both diesel and petrol options. Toyota has not tinkered or tweaked with its engines and therefore, the power output remains the same as before. You have an option of choosing from one diesel engine and two petrol engines. The 79bhp, 1.2 liter petrol engine powers base Etios Cross, whereas the top model Cross has a bigger 89bhp, 1.5 liter engine. The Diesel Cross employs the 1.4 liter D-4D engine. As the changes in Cross are cosmetic, the torque of 170Nm and power output of 67bhp stays unchanged. But when you will drive it, you are surely going to love it. However, riding Etios Cross is quite absorbent and suspension does a wonderful job of protecting the cabin for the worst roads out there. Handing is pretty decent and chunky steering wheel is weighted nicely as well.
Mileage
The D-4D diesel engine is included with advanced common railed fuel injection technology. This has the capability to produce maximum mileage on city roads of 23.59 kmpl and minimum mileage on highways of 18.04 kmpl.
Safety
Now here is some good news for you. Etios Cross comes with ABS with EBD, the dual front airbags for your safety and collision absorbing body. It also gets anti chip coating, under body coating and anti-corrosion steel sheets at the areas that are prone to rusting.
