2009 Honda S2000

The Honda S2000 roadster has been around for several years and has definitely made quite a reputation for itself. With classic sport looks, a very comfortable interior and plenty of pep under the hood it is no wonder that the Honda S2000 continues to shine.
The Honda S2000 offers 3 trims for the 2009 model. This includes the Honda S2000, Honda CR S2000 with air and the Honda CR S2000 without air. It should be noted that all trim levels include the same engine and performance.


2009 Honda S2000

As stated above all trims have the same engine a 4 cylinder 2.2 liter VTEC that delivers a powerful 237 horsepower and some decent gas mileage at 25 miles per gallon on the highway and 18 in the city. In addition, the roadster driving experience is enhanced with rear wheel drive and a 6 speed manual transmission. The S2000 has a comfortable interior with pretty much all a driver needs to be comfortable and safe. The S2000 ranges in price from $35K to 38K.

The 2008 Honda S2000 CR

The 2008 Honda S2000 is a very beautiful car with many improvements.
The 2008 Honda S2000 represents the purest expression of Honda fun-to-drive DNA with its 2-seat, open-topped roadster configuration and sophisticated front-engine, rear-wheel-drive platform. As a true sports car that can serve as a practical and fun daily driver and also feel equally at home on a racetrack, this concept further evolves with the addition of a club racer-inspired S2000 CR to the 2008 Honda lineup.

As a quintessential roadster-style sports car, the S2000 is a performance icon for the Honda brand that combines racetrack-inspired performance with everyday usability. The front engine, rear-wheel-drive S2000 rewards driving enthusiasts with a potent 2.2-liter, 16-valve DOHC VTEC 4-cylinder engine and a precise, short-throw 6-speed manual transmission, along with tenacious handling and an ideal 50/50 weight balance.

The renowned high-revving engine delivers 237 horsepower at 7800 rpm and 162 lb-ft. of torque at 6800 rpm. Perfectly complementing the engine’s high-output characteristic is a compact, longitudinally-mounted, close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission that features a direct linkage for precise shifting and quick throws. Additional performance features include a front and rear double wishbone suspension, electric power steering and a torque-sensing limited-slip rear differential.

One car that get our attention at Detroit Auto Show was the Mugen tuned Honda Civic Type-RR, debuted with a new 260 hp (194 kW) 2.2L K20A engine.

The new engine is based on the regular 2.0L Type-R unit but thanks to a stroker kit now displaces 2,157cc. It’s the same basic i-VTEC 2.0L unit, but Honda has reduced friction on the internals and redesigned the camshafts.
Other modifications include uprated brakes, shocks and springs and Mugen’s new ‘I-TCMS’ tire monitoring system.
