Mugen Type-RR Revealed

One car that get our attention at Detroit Auto Show was the Mugen tuned Honda Civic Type-RR, debuted with a new 260 hp (194 kW) 2.2L K20A engine.

The new engine is based on the regular 2.0L Type-R unit but thanks to a stroker kit now displaces 2,157cc. It’s the same basic i-VTEC 2.0L unit, but Honda has reduced friction on the internals and redesigned the camshafts.
Other modifications include uprated brakes, shocks and springs and Mugen’s new ‘I-TCMS’ tire monitoring system.

Audi R8 V12 TDI Concept

Audi officially revealed the R8 V12 TDI Concept.
Power for the concept comes from the automakers race-derived 6.0 liter V12 diesel motor, which was first used in the R10 Le Mans competition car, and is now available in the Audi Q7. The engine produces 500 hp and 738 pound-feet of torque.

Other highlights of the show concept include a glass roof, an increased use of carbon fiber, revised front and rear aprons, and larger air intakes all around.

CUSCO Subaru Impreza WRX S-GT

Cusco presented a modified WRX, made in collaboration with Vivid Racing, AFI and Agency Power.

Cusco WRX S-GT changes:

- bodykit;
- dampers;
- suspension elements;
- admission;
- FMIC;
- GT35R turbine.
